The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v13 is a comfortable anti-pronation running shoe. It is ideal for distances from 5 to 42 km and gives you a smooth and soft ride. The shoe provides a lot of stability and average cushioning. Although it is just as stable as its predecessor, it does feel smoother and softer. The Fresh Foam X 860v13 is produced according to the New Balance Green Leaf standard. This includes use of recycled materials, organic materials and residual materials.

The upper is made of slightly thicker, seamless mesh material for a good fit. It feels soft and wears airy thanks to its breathable qualities. The special embroidery on the medial side of the midfoot keeps the foot well controlled. This is extra pleasant when you get tired and start moving more inwardly. Finally, the New Balance logo is reflective, which makes you more visible in the dark.

The midsole consists of multiple layers that together provide a softer feel and more energy return than its predecessor. Under the midfoot there is Dual Density material that works together with the horseshoe shape in the bottom layer of the midsole. This ensures that you are guided forward evenly to prevent overpronation. The top layer of the midsole is softer and placed under the midfoot and forefoot for a softer and "bouncy" feeling when rolling off the foot.

The outsole has the characteristic design of most FreshFoam products. It is constructed from different materials with different shapes, specific to the settlement phase. For example, it runs all the way under the midfoot on the inside for extra strength. The outsole is slightly softer under the forefoot and has more space between the elements for a smooth push-off.
