The upper of the Wave Sky 5 is made of stretch air-mesh. This material ensures comfort, stability and is also highly breathable. The tongue is made of stretchy material and creates a seamless and snug fit around your feet.

The new Mizuno ENERZY CORE material in the midsole ensures a soft landing and more energy return. The material is thicker underneath the heel and forefoot. This attenuates pressure of landing. The small Wave ensures stability while the large Wave provides guidance during heel-to-toe transition. This creates a smooth and floating feel during transition.

The outsole is made of blown rubber thanks to which the sole provides a lot of grip and last for longer. Added to the outside of the heel is X10 carbon rubber, which makes the shoes wearproof. The forefoot has flex grooves over its full width and thereby ensures a flexible transition. The sole as been made a bit wider underneath the forefoot and heel to create a more stable ride.
