Midsole

Thanks to the Metaplate rock plate, the shoe protects you against sharp stones from below. The dual-density POWERFLOW PRO midsole absorbs shock effectively and has a high energy return, propelling you forward with every step you take. It is the lightest POWERFLOW foam to date, which provides more comfort and resilience over long distances. Despite the cushioning, the shoe's midsole is designed so that you can still feel and react to the ground beneath you – something that is especially important when running in the hills and mountains.

Upper

The upper uses Ballistic Nylon, a durable, water-repellent material developed for soldiers to protect them from flying shrapnel. This means that stones and branches do not damage the upper part. A secure, enclosed feeling at the heel is achieved by the MET-CRADLE. These are thick overlay strips that connect your midfoot to your heel and pull inward when you lace up. The new anatomical shape of the MudTalon embraces the natural contours of the foot, hugging the heel and widening at the toes for a wider and comfortable feel. There are two new specific fits: Wide Fit and Precision Fit. Go for Wide Fit if you need more room to move around your toes, and choose Precision Fit if you like a tighter, more secure feel.

Outsole

The shoe has a wear sole made of StickyGrip™ rubber. The name says it all, this rubber sticks better to wet surfaces. So you slide away a lot less quickly. There is a good chance that you will also encounter paved paths or rocks during an ultra trail run. Because the outsole contains a sticky type of rubber, the shoes also provide optimal grip and traction. In addition, the sole has 8 mm long studs to gouge through the mud.
