Every Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. This natural base encourages better alignment, a better running form, and a low-impact landing. Whether you prefer maximum cushioning, low cushioning, or something in between, Balanced Cushioning lets your feet move naturally with every step.

Midsole

The midsole is made of Altra's EGO™ foam. This foam is specially designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, regardless of the distance. It is a somewhat harder foam with a good energy return. The Lone Peak has the Original FootShape™ fit and gives your foot the freedom to move naturally. The StoneGuard™, Altra's removable rock plate is included with this shoe. The StoneGuard™ is a thin plastic insole. This is supplied generically and must therefore be cut to size for your shoe. When placed between the midsole and the insole, it protects your foot from sharp stones.

Upper

With its ripstop woven upper, this shoe offers durability and tear resistance. The GaiterTrap™ ensures that your gaiters can be easily attached to the shoe, preventing sand and dirt from entering the shoe.

Outsole
