Each Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, so with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. This natural foundation encourages better alignment, a better running style and a low-impact landing. Whether you prefer maximum cushioning, low cushioning or something in between, Balanced Cushioning lets your feet move naturally with every step.

Midsole

The Lone Peak has the Original FootShape™ fit. This is Altra's widest fit which gives your foot room to move naturally. The midsole is made from Altra's EGO™ foam, which is designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, no matter how far you run. It is a slightly harder foam that returns sufficient energy efficiency. The StoneGuard™, Altra's removable rock plate, is included with this shoe. The StoneGuard™ is a thin plastic insole. This is supplied generically and must therefore be cut to fit your shoe. When placed between the midsole and the insole, it protects your foot from sharp stones.

Upper

The GaiterTrap™ ensures that your Gaiters can easily be attached to the shoe, preventing sand and dirt from entering the shoe. With its ripstop woven upper, this shoe offers durability and tear resistance.

Outsole
