Every Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. Midsole

The midsole is made of Altra's EGO™ foam. This foam is specially designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, regardless of the distance. It is a somewhat harder foam with good energy return. With its Standard FootShape™ fit, the Escalante offers sufficient space for the foot to move naturally. The foam is equipped with Innerflex™ technology. This is a grid of slots that cuts through the entire midsole, both vertically and horizontally. This reduces the weight and dramatically increases the flexibility of the shoe without sacrificing cushioning.

Upper

The Engineered Mesh upper provides support in strategic places around the midfoot and has high breathability in the forefoot.

Outsole
