Midsole

The midsole is made of Altra's EGO™ foam. This foam is specially designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, regardless of the distance. It is a slightly harder foam with good energy return. The Escalante 4 has a Standard FootShape™ fit, which does not restrict the movement of the foot, but still fits comfortably around the foot. The foam has Innerflex™ technology. This is a grid of slots that cuts through the entire midsole, both vertically and horizontally. This reduces the weight and dramatically increases the flexibility of the shoe without sacrificing cushioning.

Upper

The Engineered Mesh upper provides flexibility and breathability in strategic places while providing a tighter fit in other places. The shoe is slightly tighter around the midfoot for a secure and supportive feel.

Outsole
