Midsole

The midsole is made of Energy Foam, a responsive foam made by combining EVA and Olefin (OBC). This is the perfect foam combination for a midsole that needs to be super light, ultra-cushioned and high in energy return. Energy Foam provides consistent comfort, no matter how long your trail run. During your trail run, ProFeel Film acts as a filter between you and the terrain you are running on. ProFeel Film is a flexible protection plate above the outsole and protects your feet against sharp objects. Many Salomon running shoes have Reverse Camber technology, including this model. Reverse Camber is a round “rocker sole”, which ensures a smooth transition from heel to forefoot. Finally, the shoe has a special sockliner called EndoFit™. The EndoFit™ sockliner is specially designed to hug the foot in exactly the right places and ensure a perfect fit.

Upper

The ULTRA GLIDE GTX has an upper that makes you trail-ready. The 3D engineered mesh upper of the shoe is covered by Salomon's SensiFit™ construction, from midsole to the lacing system, and thus provides optimal support and a customized fit around the foot. Regardless of the planned adventure, the shoe will be protected against rain and mud by the Gore-Tex® membrane. Finally, the shoe has the Quicklace lacing system to easily loosen and tighten your laces. This means you no longer have to worry about laces that can get stuck in branches while running.
