The FlipRelease system in the laces makes the shoes very comfortable. When starting a run, your feet will be relatively cold. After a couple of miles they will warm up and swell a little. Because the FlipRelease laces are quickly loosened up, you can give your feet that extra bit of room as soon as they need it. Instead of having to untie and tie your laces completely, you can just quickly click your laces into their new position and continue your run.

The two layers of Helion foam in the midsole provide a lot of cushioning. This ensures a soft feel and reduces pressure on the joints. The clouds in the midsole attenuate impact during landing and return this energy during take off. The Clouds in On running shoes can usually move independently from each other. In the Cloudultra the clouds have been joined together to make sure that stones and debris are kept out of the midsole.
