Midsole

The two layers of Helion foam in the midsole provide a lot of cushioning. This gives a soft walking feeling and reduces pressure on the joints. The shoe has CloudTec®, this technology consists of 'clouds' in the midsole that absorb the impact during landing and transfer that energy into a forward movement during your push-off. The Clouds in On running shoes can normally move separately from each other. In this model, the Clouds are connected to each other to keep stones out of the midsole. The Cloudultra also has a custom Speedboard®, created to maximize the 'rolling' feeling to make your run as comfortable as possible. The Speedboard® made of plastic also gives you extra protection against sharp objects.

Upper

The shoe has an upper consisting of two layers of mesh, making it very suitable for trail runs. The double-layer upper makes the shoe extra strong and can withstand a blow. On has also added a knitted sock construction made from 100% recycled polyester to the upper. The knitted sock provides immense comfort and prevents debris from entering your shoes. The FlipRelease is a plastic construction on the top of the shoe that can be opened to relieve pressure on the midfoot and forefoot and reduce swelling. The double-layer mesh upper makes this shoe extra durable and resistant to impacts.

Outsole

To ensure mega-grip, this model has the Missiongrip™ outsole to tackle any trail without a doubt. The Missiongrip™ outsole provides great grip with square studs in the heel and forefoot, as well as multi-angled studs in the shank and toe. The Missiongrip™ rubber has a 'sticky' property, which makes it stick to the surface you walk on. Not literally, but it does give you the feeling of a lot of grip and traction.
