Midsole
The shoe is equipped with ZoomX foam, which is Nike's lightest foam with the most energy return. By widening the sole, Nike has been able to add even more foam and also create a stable base. The ZoomX midsole effectively absorbs vibrations that occur during running, reducing the impact on your muscles. Moreover, you get a lot of energy back with every step, which makes running at a higher pace feel easier. Two visible Zoom Air units have been added under the forefoot. And underneath the Zoom Air Units is a layer of ZoomX foam for extra energy return under the forefoot. The Zoom Air Units are filled with air pressure and provide a light feeling while running. Between the layers of ZoomX foam and the Zoom Air Units there is a Flyplate that gives the shoe extra stability, but also forward propulsion.
Upper
The AtomKnit 2.0 upper is made from strong, yet lightweight yarns that are woven into one piece. It is designed to provide support to the midfoot while allowing flexibility and breathability in the forefoot. The difference with Flyknit is that the material used is thinner. This is to save weight. The padded tongue provides extra comfort by removing pressure around the laces.
