Midsole

The AMPLIFOAM™ cushioning material provides good cushioning and energy return and a super comfortable feeling under the foot. It has a lower density and is formulated to increase softness. It gives the best in all six aspects of cushioning: impact absorption, fit response, pressure relief, energy return, durability and weight. ASICS' GEL™ technology, which is incorporated into the midsole in addition to the foam, improves shock absorption and makes the landing softer. To top it all off, this shoe also has an ORTHOLITE™ insole. This insole offers soft entry comfort and thus provides long-lasting cushioning. ORTHOLITE™ has an open-cell foam which ensures that the shoe is breathable on the inside and keeps your feet cool.

Upper

The upper of the GEL-SONOMA is made of lightweight mesh that wicks moisture away from your foot, keeping you dry and cool while walking. The mesh is partly made from recycled material.

Outsole
