Each Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, so with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. Midsole

The Rivera has a Slim FootShape™ fit that provides a snug, comfortable fit for training and competition. The midsole is made of Altra's EGO™ foam. This foam is specially designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, regardless of the distance. It is a slightly harder foam with good energy return. The Innerflex™ technology has been applied to the foam. This is a grid of slots that cut through the entire midsole, both vertically and horizontally. This reduces weight and dramatically increases the shoe's flexibility without sacrificing cushioning.

Upper

The shoe has an upper consisting of two layers of mesh. The double-layer upper makes the shoe extra strong and can withstand a blow.

Outsole
