Each Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, so with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. This natural foundation encourages better alignment, a better running style and a low-impact landing. Whether you prefer maximum cushioning, low cushioning or something in between, Balanced Cushioning lets your feet move naturally with every step.

Midsole

Thanks to the Slim FootShape™ Fit, the Rivera offers a snug, comfortable fit for competitions and training. The midsole is made from Altra's EGO™ foam, which is designed to make your run as comfortable as possible, no matter how far you run. It is a slightly harder foam that returns sufficient energy efficiency. The Innerflex™ technology has been applied to the foam. This is a grid of slots that cut through the entire midsole, both vertically and horizontally. This reduces weight and dramatically increases the shoe's flexibility without sacrificing cushioning.

Upper

The Engineered Mesh upper provides support in strategic places around the midfoot and has high breathability in the forefoot.

Outsole
