Each Altra shoe is built on a Balanced Cushioned platform that positions the heel and forefoot equidistant from the ground, so with 0mm offset, or ZeroDrop™. This natural foundation encourages better alignment, a better running style and a low-impact landing. Whether you prefer maximum cushioning, low cushioning or something in between, Balanced Cushioning lets your feet move naturally with every step.

Midsole

With its Standard FootShape™ fit, the Provision offers enough space for the foot to move naturally. A slightly harder foam is used in the midsole with good energy return. This foam has been specially developed to offer you the most comfort during your run, regardless of the distance. The Innerflex™ technology has been applied to the foam. This is a grid of slots that cut through the entire midsole, both vertically and horizontally. This reduces weight and dramatically increases the shoe's flexibility without sacrificing cushioning. To ensure that you get the right support during your runs, the shoe uses the GuideRail™ support system. This technology is designed to provide support and pronation control when you start to get tired, but doesn't really affect you when you're running normally. On top of all this, extra step-in comfort and long-lasting cushioning are provided by the ORTHOLITE™ sockliner. This air-permeable sole ensures that your feet stay cool while running.

Upper

The upper is made of technical knitted mesh. The breathability of the upper keeps your feet comfortable.

Outsole

The rubber outsole of the shoe provides good grip and traction while running. FootPod™ technology is incorporated into the outsole.
