We offer a wide variety of running shoes. Each shoe has its own characteristics. Then how to know what is the difference between various models? To help you out, 21RUN presents the Our Expert’s Opinion column. This column helps you get a better insight into the different characteristics of specific running shoe models and helps you find your perfect pair.

In the Our Expert’s Opinion column our running experts rate shoe models on a number of decisive elements. Do you already know which characteristics your new running shoes should have? Use Our Expert’s Opinion to check if the model you’re looking at meets your demands.

Pronation
The degree of pronation indicates the extent to which a model provides support for overpronating runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the model gives a high degree of correction. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the model does not correct. Neutral runners don’t need a correction, overpronating runners often do need a certain degree of correction.

Support
The level of support indicates to what extent the shoe supports your foot arch. The amount of support needed is closely connected to ones weight. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little support, making the shoe more suitable for lighter runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe gives a lot of support; thereby making the shoe very suitable for heavier runners.

Cushioning
The level of cushioning indicates the extent to which a shoe absorbs shocks that occur during landing phase. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little cushioning. When wearing running shoes that provide little cushioning, you experience a lot of ground contact and responsiveness. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe provides a lot of cushioning. When wearing shoes with a lot of cushioning you will experience a softer running feel, but less ground contact and less responsiveness.

Responsiveness
The level of responsiveness indicates how energetic a running shoe feels. This often is also referred to as the degree of reactivity. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe is less responsive. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe is very responsive. When a shoe is responsive the energy of the landing phase is returned to you during take-off.

Description adidas Ultraboost 22 GTX Women

The adidas Ultraboost 22 GTX are neutral, all-round running shoes. The Ultraboost is an ideal running shoe for your daily run in all weather conditions. The shoe insulates winter weather with a water-repellent GORE-TEX upper. With the Ultraboost you have the perfect balance between weight, cushioning and responsiveness.

adidas has researched the anatomy of women's feet. Here are some results that they have implemented in the Ultraboost 22. Because of this there are some differences compared to the Ultraboost 21 and the Ultraboost 22 for men

The upper consists of adidas Primeknit material. The upper serves as a sock that hugs the foot and consists of one seamless whole, so that the shoes offer a lot of step-in comfort and wearing comfort. The GORE-TEX upper comfortably encloses the feet without pinching and ensures that your feet stay dry at all times. The tongue is softer and more snug. The heel counter is also narrower and equipped with memory foam to make the heel slide less. The iconic Ultraboost heel construction is once again applied to the shoe. The construction is positioned on the heel to allow the Achilles tendon to move naturally and hold the foot securely in place.

As with its predecessors, the Ultraboost 22 GTX also has the noticeably thicker Boost midsole. The Boost midsole provides a lot of responsive cushioning during a heel landing, after which you take that energy with you during your stride to your push-off. The Boost cushioning material is very resistant to temperature changes, so that you experience maximum cushioning in both warm and cold weather. Thanks to the Linear Energy Push (TBC) system, the middle and forefoot is slightly stiffer. This means you use less energy per step and you get an extra push during your push-off.

The strategically placed grooves of the outsole provide a softer ground contact during landing and a better transition to the forefoot. The panels on the outsole under the arch of the foot prevent the foot from sagging inwards and becoming cramped. The Continental Rubber outsole with StretchWeb technology is made from the rubber of the well-known tire brand. The material is very durable and offers a lot of grip and traction in both dry and wet conditions.
