We offer a wide variety of running shoes. Each shoe has its own characteristics. Then how to know what is the difference between various models? To help you out, 21RUN presents the Our Expert’s Opinion column. This column helps you get a better insight into the different characteristics of specific running shoe models and helps you find your perfect pair.

In the Our Expert’s Opinion column our running experts rate shoe models on a number of decisive elements. Do you already know which characteristics your new running shoes should have? Use Our Expert’s Opinion to check if the model you’re looking at meets your demands.

Pronation
The degree of pronation indicates the extent to which a model provides support for overpronating runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the model gives a high degree of correction. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the model does not correct. Neutral runners don’t need a correction, overpronating runners often do need a certain degree of correction.

Support
The level of support indicates to what extent the shoe supports your foot arch. The amount of support needed is closely connected to ones weight. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little support, making the shoe more suitable for lighter runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe gives a lot of support; thereby making the shoe very suitable for heavier runners.

Cushioning
The level of cushioning indicates the extent to which a shoe absorbs shocks that occur during landing phase. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little cushioning. When wearing running shoes that provide little cushioning, you experience a lot of ground contact and responsiveness. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe provides a lot of cushioning. When wearing shoes with a lot of cushioning you will experience a softer running feel, but less ground contact and less responsiveness.

Responsiveness
The level of responsiveness indicates how energetic a running shoe feels. This often is also referred to as the degree of reactivity. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe is less responsive. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe is very responsive. When a shoe is responsive the energy of the landing phase is returned to you during take-off.

Description adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 Men

The adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 are neutral competition shoes. This model from adidas is designed for running a personal best, in both a 10km and a marathon. The fast competition shoes include carbon and the responsive LightstrikePro foam in the midsole.

What are the updates compared to the Adios Pro 2? Firstly, there is more cushioning under the foot thanks to no less than two layers of LightstrikePRO foam. This provides maximum cushioning and energy return. In addition, so-called "cutouts" (notches) have been made in the sole at the forefoot, midfoot and heel. As a result, the Adios Pro 3 is somewhat lighter in weight than its predecessor. And finally, the upper has been adjusted based on new anatomical insights. For example, the heel cap is a bit higher for more support around the ankle.

The Adios Pro 3 has the Primegreen label, which means that the upper is made from high-quality recycled materials. The upper is almost transparent and very lightweight. The material is slightly stiffer around the feet for light support and a well-locked feeling. It barely retains moisture, which also keeps it lightweight. It also offers high breathability so that your feet remain comfortable when running long distances at a high pace.

The midsole consists of two layers of LightstrikePRO foam. This damping material stores more energy than any other damping material adidas has developed to date. Subsequently, it also returns almost all energy, so that very little energy is lost. Between the two layers of LightstrikePRO material is a Carbon plate under the heel and EnergyRods enriched with Carbon under the forefoot. The EnergyRods follow the anatomy of the forefoot. They give back a lot of energy and offer flexibility. As a result, you experience a very energetic and reactive sales. The Carbon plate in the heel absorbs the impact of a heel landing. Thanks to the geometry of the competition shoes, you experience a powerful transition and settlement that allows you to run faster with less effort.

Finally, some rubber has been added under the forefoot and under the heel for extra grip on wet surfaces. It also offers resistance to wear and increases the durability of the shoes. The adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 is a very fast competition shoe and is made for running long distances at a high pace.

The adidas Adios Pro 3 falls into the category of fast, long-distance carbon shoes. Comparable models in this category include the Nike Alphafly, ASICS Metaspeed Sky and the Saucony Endorphin Elite.
