We offer a wide variety of running shoes. Each shoe has its own characteristics. Then how to know what is the difference between various models? To help you out, 21RUN presents the Our Expert’s Opinion column. This column helps you get a better insight into the different characteristics of specific running shoe models and helps you find your perfect pair.

In the Our Expert’s Opinion column our running experts rate shoe models on a number of decisive elements. Do you already know which characteristics your new running shoes should have? Use Our Expert’s Opinion to check if the model you’re looking at meets your demands.

Pronation
The degree of pronation indicates the extent to which a model provides support for overpronating runners. If the orange bar is on the far right, the model gives a high degree of correction. If the orange bar is on the far left, the model does not correct. Neutral runners don’t need a correction, overpronating runners often do need a certain degree of correction.

Support
The level of support indicates to what extent the shoe supports your foot arch. The amount of support needed is closely connected to ones weight. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little support, making the shoe more suitable for lighter runners. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe gives a lot of support; thereby making the shoe very suitable for heavier runners.

Cushioning
The level of cushioning indicates the extent to which a shoe absorbs shocks that occur during landing phase. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little cushioning. When wearing running shoes that provide little cushioning, you experience a lot of ground contact and responsiveness. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe provides a lot of cushioning. When wearing shoes with a lot of cushioning you will experience a softer running feel, but less ground contact and less responsiveness.

Responsiveness
The level of responsiveness indicates how energetic a running shoe feels. This often is also referred to as the degree of reactivity. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe is less responsive. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe is very responsive. When a shoe is responsive the energy of the landing phase is returned to you during take-off.

Description Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% Women

The Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% for women are neutral all-round running shoes. The Tempo Next% has been built like a competition shoe, but is meant for your daily run. The running shoes are durable as well as light in weight and are ideal for speedy trainings. The upper is made of Flyknit material which has a snug feel and is also highly breathable. The Flyknit material in the Tempo is slightly see-through for a fast look. The upper is very durable and specially designed to withstand wear. The asymmetrical lacing system ensures a personalized fit and locks your feet down throughout your runs. The pull-tab on the heel makes it very easy to put-on and take-off the shoes.

The Nike Tempo Next% features a midsole made of ZoomX foam. This foam is also used in Nike's world famous racing shoes, the record-breaking Vaporfly and Alphafly. The ZoomX foam returns a lot of energy and also effectively attenuates shocks of landing impact. Thanks to this attenuation your muscles will experience less vibration, let you run more efficiently and postpone fatigue. The Tempo also features a plate in the midsole that ensure fast and smooth heel-to-toe transition. This plate, however, isn't made of carbon fibres. Instead it is made of a softer material that provides a more comfortable feel and makes the shoes more suitable for daily use.

Next to ZoomX foam, the shoes also employ React foam. This foam is mainly found in the heel, returns a lot of energy and is very durable. The midsole withstands wear of the heel. The visible Zoom Air unit in the forefoot adds to the responsiveness and energetic feel of the Tempo Next%. The rubber outsole provides a lot of grip and traction in wet as well as dry conditions. The Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% are ideal running shoes for your daily training, especially when going fast.
