The degree of pronation indicates the extent to which a model provides support for overpronating runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the model gives a high degree of correction. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the model does not correct. Neutral runners don’t need a correction, overpronating runners often do need a certain degree of correction.
The level of support indicates to what extent the shoe supports your foot arch. The amount of support needed is closely connected to ones weight. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little support, making the shoe more suitable for lighter runners. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe gives a lot of support; thereby making the shoe very suitable for heavier runners.
The level of cushioning indicates the extent to which a shoe absorbs shocks that occur during landing phase. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little cushioning. When wearing running shoes that provide little cushioning, you experience a lot of ground contact and responsiveness. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe provides a lot of cushioning. When wearing shoes with a lot of cushioning you will experience a softer running feel, but less ground contact and less responsiveness.
The level of responsiveness indicates how energetic a running shoe feels. This often is also referred to as the degree of reactivity. If the highlighted bar is on the far left, the shoe is less responsive. If the highlighted bar is on the far right, the shoe is very responsive. When a shoe is responsive the energy of the landing phase is returned to you during take-off.
The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next% for women are neutral competition running shoes. These infamous running shoes were already called the fastest running shoes in the world before they even hit the shelves. The Alphafly is basically the big brother of the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next%. The Alphafly has an upper made of AtomKnit material. This upper has various structures. Some parts are firm where other parts are flexible. Like this the upper provides targeted support and freedom of movement to the feet. The integrated tongue prevents it from slipping down into the shoe and causing irritation. The material of the upper also doesn't retain moisture and thereby ensures that the shoes stay light in weight throughout your runs.
The striking thick midsole of the Alphafly contains more ZoomX foam than the Vaporfly. This cushioning material is one of the secret ingredients that makes these shoes so much more efficient than other competition running shoes. The ZoomX material effectively attenuates shocks experienced when running, hereby reducing the impact on the muscles. Because the muscles don't have to reduce as much vibration as with normal shoes, they fatigue less quickly. Thereby allowing to run at high velocities for a longer period of time. The midsole is also very responsive and returns a lot of energy every step of the way.
Two visible Zoom Air Units have been added underneath the forefoot of the shoes. These Air Units add to the Alphafly's responsiveness. They return energy and give you a light experience when running. A full-length carbon plate has been added to the shoe. This provides a springy feel and ensure a lot of forward propulsion. The carbon plate has a light curve which helps to stimulate a smooth transition from midfoot to forefoot. To ensure that the effect of the carbon plate is perfect for each shoes size, the length and thickness of the plate have been adapted for each size.
Rubber is added underneath the forefoot of the shoes to provide grip and ensure extra durability. These innovative competition running shoes are especially suitable for runners who land on their mid or fore foot and for running fast tempos and long distances.
