Fresh Foam 1080v10

The optimal combination of maximum cushioning, flexibility and low weight; perfect for endurance runs and faster training units.

In 2014, the first running shoe model featuring Fresh Foam material was launched. Its name: the 980v1. Recent years show that Fresh Foam and the data-to-design principle, which lies at its core, have taken a permanent place in the New Balance running shoe collection. The new 1080v10 is yet another step in this process. The 1080v10 features the new Fresh Foam X material. This is a softer foam which offers even more “energy return” than the previous Fresh Foam.

The biggest improvements

The New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v10 has changed in many ways. The new Hypoknit 2.0 upper and the UltraHeel ensure a better fit. The largest update however is found in the loss of weight. The v10 is 7.5% lighter in weight than its predecessor. The 1080v10 for neutral runners also features New Balance’s new Fresh Foam X material. This material has a softer feel than regular Fresh Foam, while it also returns more energy when running.

Because the midsole has more laser incisions it can offer more cushioning. The outsole has also been updated. Added underneath the toes and the heel is the wearproof Endurance rubber. The outsole also has a sloped design called a ‘rocker’. This ensures that the sole follows the feet’s movement during transition. Like this the shoes stay responsive, mile after mile.
