The new version of HOKA’s Clifton running shoe is the HOKA ONE ONE Clifton 6. Just like its predecessors, the Clifton 6 has been specially designed for daily trainings and runs. The shoes offer a lot of comfort and a soft running experience. These neutral running shoes have also undergone a few changes. Running.shop took a closer look at Hoka’s newest Clifton to determine what has changed and what has stayed the same.
The award winning HOKA ONE ONE Clifton is back. Over the years and through the different versions of this popular model, the Clifton gained more and more weight. The Clifton 6 breaks with this trend, and has actually become lighter of weight: where the Clifton 5 weighed 266 grams, the Clifton 6 now weighs 255 grams (this is the weight for the men’s model in size 9).

More comfort
The renewed upper of the HOKA ONE ONE Clifton 6 is made of Engineered Mesh material. This material is a bit softer than the material used in the Clifton 5’s upper and also encloses the feet better. Because the material is highly breathable, the feet are kept dry and comfortable when running. The upper also features a reinforcement at midfoot height, which increases the lockdown feel of the shoes. The heel collar has been made a bit lower to provide a more comfortable fit.
A Soft and Flexible Run
The midsole of the Clifton 6 has become a lot softer. Like in its predecessor, the midsole of this new version is made of EVA cushioning material over its full-length. The geometry in the midsole, however, has been adjusted to give the shoes that softer feel. During your runs you will notice that your feet will flow smoothly through the transition phases. A direct result of the Meta-Rocker technology. This so called rocking chair for the feet combines the low offset with the unique midsole to complement a runners natural running gait. It’s as if being pushed forward every step of the way.
Enjoy the Clifton 6 for a longer period of time
Yet another change is found in the outsole of the HOKA ONE ONE Clifton 6. The outsole has become a lot more flexible than that of its predecessor and thanks to the material used in its construction the shoes will enjoy a longer life. A small change is also found in the flex-grooves, which add to the shoes’ durability.
