Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 Unisex

The Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 for men and women are neutral competition running shoes. The Hyperion Elite 2 is the second edition of these fast Carbon racers. These second versions have undergone a few updates when compared to their predecessors. The Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 is as fast as the firs version of the Elite, but now also offers a bit more cushioning and a softer instep. The instep reminisces the instep of the Brooks Hyperion Tempo, Brooks' fastest training shoe, but still lets you perform at your best during races.

The upper is almost completely similar to that of the Brooks Hyperion Elite (1). The lightweight and very thin upper hardly retains any moisture. Thanks to this the shoes stay light throughout your exertions. The upper fits snugly around the feet without becoming too rigid and thanks to its structure knows to provide gentle support.

The Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 has a new, 2 millimetre thick midsole that's made of DNA Flash Foam. This foam is enriched with nitrogen atoms, which makes the midsole more reactive but also increases the lifespan of the shoes. Where the original Hyperion Elite was trash-ready after 2 marathons, these new version add another 300 kilometres to their lifespan - that's another 7 marathons on top of the 2 from the original versions. All-in-all, the biggest update is found in the midsole of these second versions.

Just like the original Elite, the Elite 2 also features a Carbon plate. This plate returns a lot of energy during your speedy runs. When going slower, the shoes might feel a bit stiff, but when hitting the accelerator you can really feel the difference.

To provide a bit more grip, some extra rubber has been added underneath the forefoot. This rubber is weatherproof and thus also offers grip and traction in wet conditions. The Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 is the definition of a racing shoe; the shoe is specially made for long distances at high tempos. Since it's a unisex model, Brooks advises women to buy these shoes 1.5 size smaller than their regular size running shoes.
