We offer a wide variety of running shoes, each with its own characteristics. Then how to know in what one model is different from another? To help you with this, we at 21Run present the Expert Opinion. This helps you get insight into the different characteristics of specific running shoe models.
The Expert Opinion is the way in which our running experts rate the model on a number of important elements. Do you already know which characteristics your new running shoes should have? Use the Expert Opinion to check if they meet your demands.
Degree of Pronation
The degree of pronation indicates the extent to which a model provides support for overpronating runners. If the orange bar is on the far right, the model gives a high degree of correction. If the orange bar is on the far left, the model does not correct. Neutral runners don’t need a correction, overpronating runners often do need a certain degree of correction.
Level of Support
The support level indicates to what extent the shoe provides support. This is related to the weight of the runner. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little support, making the shoe more suitable for lighter runners. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe gives a lot of support, making the shoe very suitable for heavier runners.
Level of Cushioning
The cushioning level indicates the extent to which the shoe absorbs shocks that occur during landing phase. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe provides little cushioning. When wearing running shoes that provide little cushioning, you experience a lot of ground contact and responsiveness. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe provides a lot of cushioning. When wearing shoes with a lot of cushioning you will experience a softer running feel, but less ground contact and less responsiveness.
Level of Responsiveness
The level of responsiveness indicates how energetic a running shoe feels. We also call this the degree of reactivity. If the orange bar is on the far left, the shoe is less responsive. If the orange bar is on the far right, the shoe is very responsive. When a shoe is responsive you get back the energy you put into your stride during take-off phase.
The ASICS Gel Nimbus 21 for men are neutral running shoes. The 21st versions of these prominent and luxurious Gel Nimbus series has undergone a few changes when compared to its predecessor, the ASICS Gel Nimbus 20. The renewed Jacquard Mesh upper offers more stability and encloses the feet in a comfortable way. The upper is also a lot more durable and thereby ensures that the shoes last longer.
The Jacquard Mesh upper is partly made of anti-bacterial components and offers a lot of breathability. Thanks to this feature your feet will stay cool and dry when running which makes the shoes ideal for long-distance runners. The Discrete Eyelets, also found in the Gel Nimbus 20, reappear in the 21st version of these shoes. The independently placed eyelets help to better divide the pressure of the laces and thereby provide the shoes with a comfortable fit. The Personal Heel Fit also adds to this comfortable feel. The Heel Clutching system encloses the heel and provides a supportive fit.
The renewed FluidRide midsole offers the perfect combination between responsiveness and cushioning. It uses less weight to achieve this and at the same time offers extraordinary durability. The shock absorption during impact has been improved and provides more protection to the feet and legs during your runs. The renewed composition of Gel ingredients offers more cushioning for the whole foot.
The Guidance Trusstic System technology offers more stability and creates an improved gait pattern. In addition it also provides the midfoot with a better structure. The Guidance Line and the Impact Guidance System technologies support and stimulate the heel-to-toe transition. The renewed and durable DuraSponge outsole offers a lot of cushioning and stability. The ASICS High Abrasion Rubber in the heel is made of carbon rubber and offers more traction and grip.
