Shoe4Africa

Run with purpose

For every order you place, we donate €1 to Shoe4Africa.

Step by step

For every order you place, we donate 1 euro to the Shoe4Africa foundation. Like this we all contribute to a better future for children in Africa. The partnership between 21RUN and Shoe4Africa focuses on education. So far, the funds that have been raised by this project were used to build a school. Currently funds are also employed for developing sports facilities there.

EDUCATION AS Foundation

The funds raised through this project are mainly used to provide and improve education. Many children in Kenia don’t have the opportunity to attend secondary school. But of course sports shouldn’t be neglected either. We have now taken the first step: the school has opened its doors and the first children are already busy studying.

“We are here to give them hope. We are happy that these are our children who watch us on television while we compete abroad. We must show love and encourage them in life ”

– Eliud Kipchoge
Ambassador for Shoe4Africa

SPORTs FOR EVERYONE

Everyone should have the opportunity to practice sports. In addition to education, we therefore also help create opportunities to participate in sports. For us running is of course very important and we believe that it’s far more than just a physical workout. Running is about personal development and finding a balance in life. None other than Eliud Kipchoge is an ambassador for Shoe4Africa. Kipchoge has already impressively demonstrated what is possible in life. He was the first athlete in the world to run a marathon in less than two hours. With his courage, self-confidence and conviction, Kipchoge is committed to a better future for children.

THE CREATION OF SHOE4AFRICA

In 1995, after a training session in Kenya, the Swedish athlete Toby Tanser gave away his running shoes to the taxi driver who took him to the airport. The driver had told Toby about his great passion for running. This encounter changed the athlete’s life. It was then that Toby realised to what extent the right tools can influence personal development and can change someone’s future.

After returning to Sweden, Toby founded the non-profit organisation Shoe4Africa. Since then he has been committed to various projects that help improve the living conditions of children in Kenya.

THAT MOMENT TOBY realised HOW THE RIGHT TOOLS CAN AFFECT PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND change someone’s FUTURE.

Over the years Shoe4Africa has financed and successfully implemented several projects, including the construction of five schools. In addition, Shoe4Africa announced in 2008 that it would build the first children’s hospital in East and Central Africa. To finance this, Shoe4Africa organised hundreds of competitions and charity runs.

Every year Shoe4Africa welcomes more donors and ambassadors. Amongst these donors are non other than Natalie Portman, Christiano Ronaldo, Hugh Jackman, Mo Farah and many other celebrities.  Twenty years after Shoe4Africa was founded, the hospital was opened. Children from all over the region are treated at this hospital. A positive side effect: the hospital also generates jobs for the local population.
