The 880v11 is a good and versatile running shoe which is ideal for running long distances. The Fresh Foam midsole is made to provide comfort, while the double Jacquard mesh upper provides a natural and soft fit.
The previous, 10th version of the 880 model, was the first generation of 880s to employ Fresh Foam material in the midsole. These 10th editions were a great succes. The 11th editions now continue the 880 saga by presenting an updated version of the 880v10. Some small but significant changes make the 880v11 for neutral runners a shoe that’s bound for succes.
These 11th version feature a new upper, a softer heel counter and, thanks to the improved midsoles, a slightly softer and springier feel.
The upper of the New Balance Fresh Foam 880v11 is made of Engineered Double Jacquard Mesh material. This material fits snugly around the feet without becoming too rigid, and on top of that is also highly breathable. The overlays are thinner and less coarse than in the previous version. These new editions also definitely provide better ventilation.
The soft cushioning of the midsole is provided by the precisely designed Fresh Foam material. This softness is combined with more durability and results in a softer running experience without a spongy feel. And, what’s more, thanks to this new combination the shoes will also last for longer.
Not much has changed when it comes to the outsole. Like in the 10th version of this model, the outsole is made of three carbon-rubber parts, which make the shoes very durable. The outsole of the 880v11 is made of blown-rubber which provides better traction and at the same time ensures excellent energy return. The heel counter is the finishing touch to the shoe and helps keep the heel in place during heel-to-toe transition.
