Research shows that anatomy and biomechanics differ significantly between men and women. Based on 1.2 million foot scans, adidas has now developed the perfect fit for female runners. With the Ultraboost 22, everything you love about this shoe has been adapted to the shape of the female foot.
The sock-like construction of the upper has a more tailored fit and thanks to this better envelops the foot. The narrow area of the heel is equipped with adaptive memory foam. This means that the heel perfectly adapts itself to your foot and your needs.
Overpronation is more common amongst female runners. To prevent the arch of the foot from collapsing inwardly during heel-to-toe transition, the frame of the shoe has been reinforced on the inside. The so-called Tuned Medial Pattern takes corrective action when necessary.
Thanks to the adapted Continental Rubber outsole, the BOOST material is given more space. This enables a smooth, focused transition.
In addition to the many innovative updates to the Ultraboost 22 for women, the men’s version is of course not left behind. Among other things, the UB22 for men has an embedded cage that makes the shoe more flexible. In addition, the Primeknit+ Forge technologies in the upper material ensure more support and an improved locked fit.
The Ultraboost 21, the predecessor to this version, has already made many friends amongst the recycled materials. Its upper material is made of high-performance yarn, at least 50% of which is Parley Ocean Plastic. The other half of the yarn is made from recycled polyester. With the Ultraboost 22, adidas takes it one step further: this new model impresses with recycled Continental rubber and TPU material. These additions make the shoe the most sustainable Ultraboost edition to date.
