Saucony goes for innovation with their new Endorphin collection. Last year, this American brand updated their already existing models with new technologies. Think, for instance, of the PWRRUN and FORMFIT technologies. With the Endorphin collection, Saucony raises the bar for running shoes. After years of research, Saucony releases three new running shoes: the Endorphin Shift, Endorphin Speed and Endorphin Pro. This blog will discuss the differences between the three and will advise you on which one would be best for you. We can already reveal something though: one of the three features a carbon plate.

Every Day Shift

Let’s start at the beginning; the Saucony Endorphin Shift. These running shoes are designed for your daily runs. The upper is highly breathable and light in weight. Your feet are well enclosed which helps prevent friction. A layer of plastic on the outside reinforces the heel cap. The midfoot embroidery is not only decorative, but also reinforces the midfoot. The midsole consists of the by now famous PWRRUN foam, which is made with a base of EVA rubber. This midsole makes the shoe lightweight while at the same time offering a lot of cushioning and responsiveness. The forefoot features a new technology called Speedroll. This technology consists of a curve in the sole underneath the forefoot and a geometric outsole. It provides you with ultimate grip during transition of your feet and gives you the feeling that you are being propelled forward.

These neutral shoes are suitable for runners of all levels.

Need for Speed

The Saucony Endorphin Speed has the same colour scheme as the Shift, but is a completely different running shoe. The Speed is specially designed for fast times on shorter distances or for your fast workouts. The FORMFIT upper ensures that your foot stays in place and that you do not overheat when running. The PWRRUN-PB foam really comes to its own. This new foam is made by pouring small plastic balls or beads into a mould and melting them into a midsole with exceptional energy return. The Endorphin Speed, like the Shift, combines the Speedroll technology in the forefoot with a nylon plate in the midsole. This makes running at high velocities feel easier and it will help you cut seconds of off your PBs.

These neutral competition shoes are suitable for runners who want to reach a faster pace and keep this pace for a longer period of time.

Race Like a Pro

Saucony has also been experimenting with carbon. The Saucony Endorphin Pro is designed to crush records. While carbon in the midsole proofs to result in speed, scientists at Saucony know that the foam around this plate is just as important. Like the Shift and Speed, the Endorphin Pro also features the PWRRUN-PB foam in the midsole and the Speedroll technology in the forefoot. Moreover, the upper is also made with the light FORMFIT material. The carbon plate, however, is the icing on the cake of this shoe. It returns so much energy that you can continue running at a higher pace for longer.

These neutral competition shoes are your perfect partner on race day.
